It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2

Christian-Christianity – Has Become Confusing and Ambiguous Terms

The words Christian or Christianity have been hijacked by this world system. They have redefined these terms to mean a political view, old wives’ tales or a loyalty to the traditions of men and they have placed these above the word of God. The word Christian or Christianity has lost its resemblance to its original context as terms pertaining to; believing in, belongingto or being obedient to Jesus Christ.

Some people hear the word Christian now and they are confused as to what it really means to those who call themselves Christians and yet they do not obey or follow Christ’s teaching. The word Christian is now being used to get people to do what is popular, what gives them an advantage orto line up with the tales and lies that have been told. Some people are now offended by the word Christian, because people who have identified themselves as one have acted with hatred, entitlement and violence. None of which Christ displayed in His life.

2 timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

Mark 7:13 making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

2 Corinthians 11:3-4 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it! NKJ

Christian was not a term given by God, He called us children of God, sons and daughters of the Most-High King. The name Christian was given to the followers of Christ by the people in Antioch. God called us children, that in itself defines who we are and our relationship with God our Father. There should benothing ambiguous or confusing about our relationship as a child of God and being in the family and household of God. We are Beloved children and are taught and nurtured by our Father so that we may resemble His likeness.

Acts 11:26b And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

Galatians 3:26-28 – or you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.  For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. NKJ

The Satan is subtle, shrewd, elusive and deceptive, he has caused many to believe his lies and cause them to put more trust and loyalty into their finances, nationality and ethnicity than they do in the word of God.  We all have been taught the same thing by a fallen world system that says we should contend and compete for high positions and influence. This is done through a process that systematically sets up the downfall of some while giving status and influence to others. Some men proclaim they are of God and speak with eloquent words and yet they speak lies and promote hate without showing the love and compassion God has for the people.

2 Corinthians 11:3,13-15 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.  And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Every person has been given a hand from which they must live and as a result of their choices and actions in life they willbecome the person they choose to be. Some people want to blame God for giving them a bad hand and placing them in poor circumstances. It may appear as though they have a bad life because they are hated for their ethnicity or social status but God has also given them the tools and the means to be successful in the kingdom of God on the earth.

God has dealt each one of us the hand that we have, however dismal it may appear and He has also given us the ability to win with the hand that we have been given. God has given to every follower of Christ the Holy Spirit who will teach, instruct and lead us in all truth and God’s abundant life.

Jeremiah 29:11-12For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. NKJ

God’s truth is a rare commodity in that it has been hidden from the eyes of fallen humanity by the dark prince of this age, Satan, who has blinded their eyes to the light and the truth of God’s gospel. We all have been taught to believe these lies and were in darkness until God expose the lies and then we can examine them with the light of His truth through His word.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4  but even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,  whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. NKJ

Few people take the time to question their own belief systems regarding their ethnicity or their socioeconomic status to see if what they believe line up with God’s truth. When followers of Christ receive the Holy Spirit, God begins to reveal truths in His word and then a decision must be made. This is where those who call themselves Christians and true followers of Christ will part ways.

Those who call themselves Christians but still ignore God’s word to follow after their own self-interests to protect their social status and privilege are not true Christian and Christ isnot their Lord. Followers of Christ will allow the Holy Spirit to press in and crush their old ways and change their way of thinking so to be transformed into the image of Jesus, becoming true followers of Christ.

Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. NKJ

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. NKJ

To Go After God’s Own Heart

Can a man who has raped another man’s wife, had him killedand then take his wife, can such a person be saved? Not only can he be saved but he can be transformed into a person who walks uprightly and can become a person who seeks God’s heart. David was the king of Israel who took Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, and laid with her and had Uriah killed and thentook Bathsheba for his wife. Yet, God called David a man after His own heart, and some people would ask why?

David a man after God’s heart began as a shepherd who song praises and worshiped God while caring for the sheep. He wasoverlooked when the prophet Samuel came to his father’s houseand all of the sons were called to the feast but David. He was in the field with the sheep and yet his spirit was one that praised and worshiped God. A heart of worship and praise to God in private can catapult a person from obscurity into a state of influence, just as David went from being keeper of the sheep to being anointed the next king of Israel.

1 Samuel 16:11,13 And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not [a]sit down till he comes here.”  13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah. NKJ

David was a man who believed God’s word to be true and sought God’s guidance in his battles. Though David was anointed to be the next king of Israel he did not take it upon himself to take the kingdom from Saul. Instead he hid himself from Saul, who was trying to kill him and continued to fightagainst the enemies of Israel. David waited on the Lord to give him the kingdom He had promised, though it took many years, David trusted God’s faithfulness.

1 Samuel 26: 23  May the Lord repay every man for his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the Lord delivered you into my hand today, but I would not stretch out my hand against the Lord’s anointed. NKJ

David was a man who trusted God to avenge him from wrongdoings. In the natural we would think David had every right to slay Saul because he was trying to kill him.  David had respect for the anointing of God that was once placed on Saul and would not kill him, though David had several chances to kill Saul, he refused. When David’s men spoke of stoning him because they were greatly distressed at the loss of their families, David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

1 Samuel 30:6 Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

When Nabal, who was a harsh man and evil in his doings, ridiculed David and his servant David went with the intent to slay Nabal and his household.  Godly counsel was given to David and he turned away from avenging himself, and God avenged David in that Nabal died days later.

1 Samuel 25:33  And blessed is your advice and blessed are you, because you have kept me this day from coming to bloodshed and from avenging myself with my own hand. NKJ

David was a man who humbled himself before God. He esteemed the word and the ark of God greater than his own reputation. When the ark of God was brought into the city of David he danced like a wild man before it in worship to God. He did not care what people would say about him, though he was the king, David did not restrain or hinder his praise and worship to God. David would rather appear to be made low in his own eyes for God’s glory. Some people are more concerned about their own status and reputation than they are the glory of God. David put God above his appearance and the perception other people had of him.

2 Samuel 6:21-22  So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord.  And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.” NKJ

David was a man who worshiped and praised God and acknowledged God for His goodness and faithfulness to him.David wrote most of the Psalms in the Bible which was the hymnbook of the Old Testament. The Psalms are songs of praise and worship to God as they recognize God’s love and provision for His people. God inhabits the praises of His people therefore He is always close by those who praise and worship Him.

2 Samuel 7: 22   Therefore You are great, O Lord God. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears. NKJ

David sought God direct his steps in his battles, yet when it came to his personal life he acted or reacted out of selfishness, self-interest and greed. But when David was confronted with his sin against Bathsheba and Uriah he was quick to acknowledge his wrong doing and submitted himself to God’s judgement.

God is more concerned about our present and our future than our past. Though David had done wrong, he turned and acknowledge his sins and committed himself to the Lord.

2 Samuel 12:13 So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. NKJ

Acts 13:22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’ NKJ

We too can be a person after God’s own heart:

We can be a person who believe God’s word is true and to be quick to turn and obey God.

We can be a person who praises and worships God continuouslyand seek His direction.

We can become a person of humility not seeking to be exalt or avenge ourselves.

We can trust God’s love for us and believe in His faithfulness toward us.

In Christ We Are More Than Conquerors

Christ came and died that we might have an abundant life, not just a mediocre life, one where we are barely getting by, but life that is overflowing with God’s goodness, grace and mercy. But our minds have been trained to think otherwise. This is not to say that we will not go through some trials, testing or hard times but God in His faithfulness and mercy will see us through it victoriously. It takes time and faith in the power of the Holy Spirit for us to accept that God will see us through every challenge and He wants us to live an abundant life to live out His promises in our lives.

We should ask God to change our habits and redirect our thoughts to lineup with His word. That we may standfast in the midst of these challenges, trials that come to test our faith to see if we believe earnestly the truths we received. We must learn how to navigate these situations in such a manner that we trust God and His faithfulness and we will know that we are able to be victorious and more than conquerors in the trials and hardships that we go through.

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.NKJ

God’s tender mercies and grace saw us in our ruin and debased state and sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to rescue us. The love of God is at the beginning of every love story, every love song, every rag to riches story, in every low-class person being transformed into one of affluence.  Jesus coming to save and rescue us from the evil one is in every story that has been told of a person being liberated and rescued.  Some people have seen hard times in their life experiences, which have battered their conscious into a negative view of themselves and others. Their perception of life is negative and painful and because of their past hurts some refuse to receive the light of God’s truthand forgiveness. God has shown us His love through the majestic, beauty and abundance of His creations on the earthand in the heavens. We see the love, mercy and forgiveness of God in every love story where hearts learn to turn from hate and to love someone other than themselves.

Romans 1:20-22 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.  Professing to be wise, they became fools, NKJ

It is Christ living in us, through the power of the Holy Spirit, that gives us the grace of God, which enables us to love others truly and deeply.  True followers of Christ will display a greater love than those who are selfish and who are in need of immediate gratification. Followers of Christ will put the salvation and the love for others first.   We have been enriched by Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, in all utterance and knowledge that we may know how to speak a word of truth in love.

1 Corinthians 1: 4-9  I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge,  even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you,  so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,  who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.  God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. NKJ

Some people will hurt, wound or offend others with their words calling it truth to make a point or to show their knowledge. Truth without love is brutal and cruel. We have not been called to be vicious or callous for the sake of making a point. We were given a new command to love one another as Christ loved usand gave Himself for us. Prior to Christ, man could only love others to the level that they themselves have loved.  Mankind can be narcissistic with an inflated sense of self-importance, which limits their ability to love others well.   Love is to be above all other schemes, agendas or fixations. If we cannot speak a truth without love we should wait before God and ask the Holy Spirit to teach us and show us how to speak this truth with the love of God.

John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. NKJ

Some people may have the gift of speaking like an angel, or able to give a word of prophecy, or may have a great understanding and knowledge of the Bible. But if they speak or minister without a kind and loving heart it will not profit them anything.  Love is patient with other so that it may show kindness and considerations to others. We should be watchful of our words before speaking to ensure that our speech is from a position of love. We are not to speak to make our point or to show we were right in our knowledge of the word. God is more concerned for the souls of men than He is with people making a point or displaying their knowledge.

1 Corinthians 13:1-4   Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body ]to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; NKJ

Abundant life is in Christ and it is in Him that we live our everyday lives with changes, progress and development that creates in us a new nature which is the essence of our life in Christ. Through faith we become children of God in the familyof the Most-High King and our nature is being changed to be more like Christ.

Act 17:28 For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ NKJ

This life will have its challenges, its trials and the testing of our faith but when we operate according to God’s kingdom principles we will be more than a conqueror.  A conqueror is one who goes to battle and defeat his foe, but we are more than a conqueror, because we did not even have to fight the battle,Christ died at the cross and yet we are more than victors.

Romans 8:37-39 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. NKJ
