We seek the kingdom of God when we seek to know God the Father and Jesus Christ whom He sent. We obtain knowledge of His kingdom through His word. We are to still get the best education we can for ourselves and our children, we are to work hard for those that we are in service to, but our motives are different and our priorities have changed. God’s principlesshould be first in every decision and we work diligently because our service is to our Lord and we represent Him in our words, deeds and actions.
Seeking the kingdom of God is seeking to know Him and His principles that we may know how to daily live and work for His kingdom. His righteousness is a gift we receive as an act of the our will by choosing to believe in Christ and operate in Hisprinciples even though they may go against our natural affinities and biases that we have taught or have learned in thisfallen system.
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. NKJ
Colossians 3:23-24 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. KJ
God wants His children to have wealth and He is not against us having possessions nor riches. But He is against wealth and riches becoming our focus and idol. God gave us the ability to get wealth that we may establish His covenant in the earth. Our focus is not to obtain wealth and riches the world’s way but our methods and purpose are different, we are to bring glory to God. When we seek go after the things that are important to God, the souls of men and His glory, then Favor of God will rest upon us. The things we need and desire will come to us as we go about our daily lives fulfilling purpose, because of God’sFavor.
True follower of Christ focus is not just to gather and store up for self and family but to help others and those who are marginal. In giving to those who may not be able to repay the debt we are showing God’s love and sharing His grace that it may be seen on the earth. In the Bible we see those who were in covenant with God, Abraham, Joseph, David and Solomon were rich in possessions but their focus was seeking God and their relationship with Him and they became a blessing toothers.
Deuteronomy 8:18 “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. NKJ
The world measures success by their accumulation of possession and superior intellect, the number of degrees and letters behind their name. They obtain their intellect by gathering information and facts from a fallen system that wassetup to create and perpetuate division, separation and a caste system of the haves and the haves not. Though the information and facts that they are taught changes as mankind increases their ability to validate truth yet, they continue to establish and construct systems of exaltation of self and their group while oppressing another.
God’s word gives us a better understanding, wisdom and the ability to discern truth so to make best choices according to His kingdom principles. This is unlike human intellect that is information saturated with biases and prejudices to promote or to defame. The Bible tells us, that to know God’s word will give us more understanding than the teachers, in that it giving us wisdom to discern truth and to make better choices. His word shows us how to be humble with and these truths are what makes us successful in the kingdom. Many people fail to learn God’s word and thereby fail to trust His kingdom principles and His ways.
Psalm 119:99 I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation. NKJ
God’s truths and word never changes and His word will stand forever. The problem with some believers is that they are deficient in the knowledge of the truth of God’s word. They may have worldly intellect but lack knowledge and understanding of God’s principles and ways. The Bible tells us God’s people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge and reject Him and His word. It was not because of devils, the political parties, their race or gender but their refusing to receive His knowledge. If we have a good understanding of God and His word we will be able to maneuver and overcome the obstacleswe face in this world.
Hosea4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. NKJ
Operating in God’s kingdom ways will not only be a blessing to us but can be a blessing to our children and our children’s children for generations. One person can decide to take a chance on God’s principles and be willing to believe His word above circumstances and situations for the sake of themselves, their children and family. They can choose to press through the onslaught and attacks of the world and the enemy that tries toget them to give up. They may be a living testimony and witness of God’s faithfulness not only for their family but for their community and those around them.
Psalms 112: 1-5 Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in is house, And his righteousness endures forever. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. NKJ
Once we obtain the knowledge of God’s truth the battle for our faith and what we will believe begins. Our good fight of faith is fought in the mind to see whose report we will believe and what will influence our actions. Those who remain in this fallen system will continue as before and those who stand infaith and believe will pray for God to change their heart, mind and actions.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. NKJ
The place where we are born and the life is where we were given and assigned it was not an accident but the divine purpose and calling of God for us. When we are rooted in the word of God and His kingdom principles, we are able to be a light where there is darkness, truth where there are lies. It is when we are willing to die to the temporal things of this world that others may see His glory and receive eternal life. This is done with every choice we make in life either by choice or default. When we choose to love others as God has loved us we show the relationship we have with the Father. When our actionsresemble His actions, we reflect the light of His glory and in our associations with other we reveal His principles in our daily actions to a lost and dying world.
Our purpose as true follower’s of Christ.
Relationship – To be in fellowship and community with the God-Trinity
Resemble – To look like our Father in character and integrity
Reflect – To be a light in darkness
Reveal – To make known God and His kingdom to a lost and dying world
