God Is Not Willing That Any Should Perish
It is God’s will that none would perish, but everyone would come to repentance and have eternal life. It is God’s love for us and His desire to have us live with Him for eternity, that He sent Jesus to pay the price we owed for our rebellion. It is God’s will that we all be sanctified and separated from this fallen fate of sin and that we become wholly, absolutely and in total fellowship with God our Father. So that we may realize and live out our created purpose, to create new life out of chaos and to bring light into darkness. This is done through our faith in the completed work of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection and not in our works.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
The choice and the will to do is still ours to make. God will not overrule the authority, dominion and power He has given us in the earth. God’s mission for us has not changed, that we would be fruitful and multiply His goodness, His love and His kingdom presence through-out the earth.
Because of God’s love for His creation and His desire to be in fellowship with all humanity He has provided a way of salvation and sanctification to all who choose to accept the free gift of salvation, through faith in the completed work of Jesus Christ. It is our will and our choice, so now the question is “Am I willing to let God work in and through me?”
Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
As His beloved this is what is asked of us, that we be one with God that we may bring His kingdom, dominion, life and love to a world of chaos. This is done by us building ourselves up on our most holy faith. We are called the beloved of God, one who is cherished, much-loved and favored by God.
Jude:20-21 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that we are able to transform our natural fallen affection and impulsiveness which are rooted in selfishness and in us being a spoiled person, wanting our own way, without regard, respect or consideration for those around us. Jesus was able to wash the feet of His disciples and even the one who would betray Him, because He was secure in who He is, the Son of God. When our identity is engrained, imbedded and fixed on who we are in the family of God, we too will be able to humble ourselves in the sight of humanity, knowing that we are exalted in His kingdom, the kingdom of God.
1 Peter 5:5-6 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty had of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
Father, let me be about your kingdom business, to seek and to save the lost, to know You the true and living God and Christ Jesus Your Son. Let us abide in Your word and let Your words abide in us, that the love and the truth of God will flow from us like rivers of living water.
John 17:2-3 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
Abba Father, Let us grow in knowledge, understanding and in Holy faith, let us put aside our self-importance, pride and arrogance, that we may be a service to those around us. Let us not act on impulse or as a spoiled child, but with maturity of spirit as disciples of Christ to serve and love others as You have loved us. Holy Spirit, let Your life quickening Spirit flood to those around us, that we all may receive Your eternal life.
